Chasing the Wonga!!!!!

As usual it's been a while since I updated the blog, this is partially due to me trying to put in some decent volume this month (and also part laziness). Hand wise all is going well, I hit the 41k today, wonga wise the month is going reasonable well even though I've spent the last two weeks chasing my month peak which was around the 16k hand mark. The month started with an awesome 32 BI heater over the first 16k hands (most at 1/2 and  minus a couple at 5/10) hopefully I can put together a few winning days to make it a decent month. Today I pretty much managed to get back to breakeven at 5/10 for the month after coolering a particular reg a couple of times. My 5/10 rostucko started the other day with this hand, I was pretty surprised when I saw what he'd called me with but I can see what he was thinking in the hand.

My bet sizing was a little out in the hand as I should have set myself up for a smaller river shove, but it worked out so meh. Anyone paying attention to my twitter will have seen a graph I posted showing my last 5k hands at 5/10, it's been pretty frustrating to say the least I've managed to win back around 3-4 BI's over the last few days but it's going to take a while before I'm in the green at 5/10.............I'm looking forward to that day.

Having busted out the WPT satellite I'm now watching Days of Thunder, try and guess what I watched last night.

Bestival bonus

I got back to the grind today after 4 days away at Bestival, I managed to blag myself a free ticket in exchange for a driving my housemates band. It was an awesome weekend, highlights for me were DJ Shadow, Mogwai, Health The Cure, Bjork and obviously Esben. The Cure show is a bit of a blur for me as I got carried away drinking serious amounts of red wine, I ended up getting separated from my mates and staggering back to the campsite (possible falling over once or twice). The weather wasn't great but was better than I'd prepared for, I woke up on Monday to what felt like a hurricane, the tent was pretty much collapsing in on itself with every gust, I'm was surprised it even stayed up.

My ballin ride for the weekend

Esben and the Witch

Back to poker, I've been making some effort to put in a lot of volume this month to make up for how little I played last month. I've played about 17.5k hands so far and have managed to get off to a good start, I'm still loosing at 5/10 which is pretty annoying as it's basically 2.5x my regular stake. I played a little today but it only took 10-15 hands before I got in with AK Vs AA, I flopped a gut shot but go no love on the turn or river......wa wa waaaaaa.

Random stuff

The other day I came across a few random screen shots/conversations I've had in my time on PKR. A couple really stood out so I figured I'd share them with you. Some of you may remember a shortstacker/fish by the name of AACanWinSometimes, if you've ever spent anytime at the table with him you'll probably be aware of how 'vocal' he was. Most of his chat involved complaining about the various set ups he encountered and how rigged the site was. The hand below most likely only enforced these views.

Here's a convo I had with some random railer, I may have actually posted this in the blog before but I can't be assed to check if I have.

I'm hoping to put in some serious volume (by my standards) this month as I didn't play a huge amount last month, anything around the 50k mark and I'll be happy, this figure isn't going to be set in stone as I'm going to put the emphasis on playing quality poker so if I feel that I'm not playing well or in the right frame of mind I'll quit the session. I've put in around 6.5k hands so far and at the moment my September graph is going in the right direction. Hopefully the run good will continue.
