Luckboxed another MTT

I decided to give PKR's new prestige tournament ago, the result was pretty pleasing. As per I ran really hot, the first time my tourney life was on the line was when UTG limped I shoved AQs for 15bbs, everyone folds, UTG snaps with AK, I obviously flop a Q. The most significant hand after that was when I flatted an EP open with 99, called a Cbet on an 8 high board and proceeded to turn top set. The PFR then CRAI on when I bet the turn, he had QQ and bricked off.

HU didn't last for too long, the final hand was I shoved J7o from the BTN (effective stacks 10bbs) and spiked a 7 against A4o.

I've played a fair bit of cash this month, 90% at 2/4 with a little 3/6 and 5/10 thrown in. I'm really happy with the results but somewhat disapointed in my play over the last week or so. I've been struggling to concentrate and have made a fair few mistakes.

Railers and run good

It's always fun speaking to the railers on PKR. This was one of the more entertaining conversations I've had.
I'm not entirly happy with how I've been playing over the last few days but when I run this good I don't need to play well. FWIW I'm perfectly happy with how I played this hand, but I was certainly pleased with the result.

First PKR MTT win

After attending PKR live I've felt the urge to play more MTTs, anyway the first attempt went pretty well.
I ran pretty hot throughout getting in with KJ Vs AJ (for 10bbs) and winning to get HU. The final hand was - I open AJs villain shoves I snap he has K6o and is drawing dead after the flop as I flop the flush.

PKR live weekend

Earlier today I go back from my first PKR live event. All in all it was a very fun weekend, I travelled up to London on Friday night with my good friend rhymenoceros after checking in to our hotel we headed over to London Bridge for the PKR drinks reception. It was pretty interesting finally putting some faces to names, I finally got meet Japete (after playing him almost everyday) where I gave him some vital tournament advice which obviously worked pretty well for him. Congrats Japete.

After the drinks reception Myself, Rhyme, Japete, GolgeJ and a few others headed out for more drinks this is were things started to get hazy. After numerous Jägerbombs I figured it'd be a good idea to head back and get some sleep, this was not before hitting up McD's for a nutritious late night meal.

I woke up the following day not actually feeling too bad, the same couldn't be said for Rhyme (he's a lightweight!). Anyway there's not really much to talk about regarding either of the tournaments, I went semi-deep in the main eventually busting out around 35th-40th or something. Neither tournament was too interesting as I never really built up any kind of stack.

After getting knocked out of the terminator on day two I played some £1/2 live cash. This was really good fun as the games were pretty soft and a lot of the play was 200bb+ deep. One of the funnier hands played was when I cold 4bet AKo in position to £80 Vs the table maniac, he called OOP with around £220ish behind, flop comes K99r he checks I check back (take note of my tricky Thor O style play), turn is a 5 I bet £75 he calls pretty quickly, river is a brick, he open shoves, I call and he shows Ace high lol. I finished up about £400 in cash for the weekend which was some conciliation for failing to cash in either tournament.

Party time at 2/4

The other night I joined a 2/4 game not really intending to play for long, this soon changed when I realised there was a maniac at the table who seemed to be going out of his/her way to loose as much money as possible. Over the next 100 hands they managed to loose over $3.9k, almost a buy in every 10 hands. Pretty much the first hand I played Vs the maniac, I managed to get QQ AI pre Vs his QTs, the turn was a bit of a sweat as he picked up an open ender, but as Wongaman runs so hot I held.

At one point I checked the table stats to see this.

Obviously just a nasty cooler, I mean who doesn't go broke with a pair and a flush draw 300bb deep on this board? I must give a shout to to Thor who was faced with some difficulted decision during both hands (particularly hand 2), congrats Thor.
